As a virtual assistant, I'm often asked what I do. The simple answer? Whatever my clients need me to do. Even before I went solo and virtual, my job as Executive Assistant was to support my CEO and that often meant working on assignments that weren't technically in my job description. It also meant learning new things, being flexible and adapting.
You may wonder if this business model leads to my doing things I don't want to do or that I'm not good at, but it doesn't. Before I agree to work with a client, I have at least one thorough conversation about the type of work he or she is looking for help with. I also encourage the client to consider other tasks that could be offloaded to me and provide a list of questions to help facilitate that thought process. You might be surprised by what they come up with!
Just in the last month, I worked with one client on an email campaign for a virtual event and helped another to create document templates for her business. I often tell people that my list of services grows with each client I work with because I love to learn new ways to serve them.
If you're a small business owner or solo professional and you don't have time to do all the things, consider me your secret weapon. I can help you tame the chaos so you can get back to doing what you love to do - the reason you started your business in the first place!
